[arm-allstar] RPI serial and dosbox

Derek,
I think the HamVoIP version of DOSBox should work fine as-is to program
the F420S radios, etc. By far the simplest solution is to buy an Icom USB
programming cable and use that to setup the radios. I think all my icom
cables used clone prolific PL2303 chips, which work okay with Linux.
The FTDI hacks in HamVoIP won't interfere.

program my radios (icom F420S) with the built in serial UART pins on the
pi from dosbox (dues to lack of USB ports). I can access the serial from
term95, and using the same settings as the radio (9600 8n1) and a jumper
across rxd and txd I can send and receive data no problem, however the
csf300s software says it is not getting a response from the radio.
Further complicating matters is icom's love of 1 wire serial. That said,
I have built adapters that work on these radios using 3v3 ch340 and ftdi
adapters, and I use dosbox on my pc to program them, and I am using the
same circuit.

pertaining to serial. Is there anything that would interfere with normal
serial operation? Is there any way to get better debug information out of
dosbox? Is there anything that would prevent me from grabbing the stock
dosbox from arch-arm and running it?
