[arm-allstar] cm108 baofeng transmit while receiving option?

I’ve setup my node on a repeater, but it’s going through the cheap cm108 +
baofeng setup. It works great, the only problem is that if the repeater is
transmitting like during the long squelch tail, I cannot get the radio to
enter transmit mode. I’m using the DV Switch app, and I cannot make the
node transmit over rf while it is receiving. I think this is intentional,
but I wonder if there is a way to force it to ignore the RX state and
transmit if any incoming audio comes into the node.
Is there a way to do this?
