I don’t know if anyone got back to you on this. I’ll assume you ran into the same quirk we did; global playback directed to a node set for duplex=0 only plays locally.
The work around I’ve seen posted, and works fine for us:
Connect the duplex=0 node to a pseudo-node set to duplex=1 or probably any setting that is not zero.
We are using the 1999 example that is already mostly set up on the image.
Send the global playback to 1999 (or whatever your pseudo node is). Everyone will hear it.
We leave 1999 permenently connected via a startup macro. Doesn’t seem to cause any problems.

I was not able to get it working properly but Dave WA2KJC and Doug WA3DSP helped me a ton in getting it up and running. The reason it wouldn't play globally was due to how I had the pi set in rpt.conf. I am using an Arcom controller and used the suggested Repeater/Simplex Node Settings of duplex=0 and had linktolink uncommented and set to yes. Well it would not play news line globally with those settings so I commented out linktolink and set the duplex to 2 and now I get a good half second to second echo but it plays newsline globally as it should. I set it back to the original way I had it set and the echo goes away but newsline wont play globally.
