[arm-allstar] Asterisk Language Setting

OK, so stupid question
I have been trying to research hot to change the language in Asterisk but
everything I have found has not worked. I currently playing with an image
put out by a french guy named Spotnik and the telemetry is all in french.
Does anyone know the setting for this? I tried the
core set global language english
and this command is accepted by asterisk but it doesn't change anything.
