Echolink Issue resolved. My stupidity! I double checked my password, and I was using the wrong one. It’s now working! Sorry to have troubled anyone. Thanks for the hint, Rich.

Greetings,

I am having a similar problem to Kyle regarding Echolink. I have been using EchoIRLP which is still working. However, I turned off my EchoIRLP node 3 days ago because I would like to use Echolink with my Allstar Node. I had used it with Allstar before, and it worked fine. However, I am not able to connect to the Echolink Registration servers using the Allstar Echolink. I am getting these error messages.

[Jun 17 14:30:36] ERROR[343] chan_echolink.c: Error in parsing header on server1.echolink.org
[Jun 17 14:30:56] ERROR[343] chan_echolink.c: Error in parsing header on server2.echolink.org
[Jun 17 14:31:16] ERROR[343] chan_echolink.c: Error in parsing header on server3.echolink.org

I have tried rebooting my node and router several times. I also double checked my Echolink ports on Allstar. If I have EchoIRLP turned on, Echolink works fine and I can see it on Supermon2. It just won?t work with Allstar.

I have also tried the following commands in the asterisk client, but they are not recognized:
echolink dbdump Dump entire echolink db
echolink dbflush  	Flushing echolink db
echolink dbget Look up echolink db entry
echolink debug level Enable echolink debugging

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi Vince,

The problem you're having is different from Kyle's issue....Your problem
is that the HamVoIP echolink software isn't authenticating with the
echolink servers. Check your /etc/asterisk/echolink.conf file carefully.
The parameters you need to set are below, AS EXAMPLES:

[el0]

;;; These parameters must be configured
node=<My echolink node number>
call=<My echolink callsign info>
pwd=<My echolink password>
astnode=<AllStar node hosting echolink>
Name=<My echolink name>
email=<My echolink e-mail>
qth=<My QTH>

;;; Set context to value used in extensions.conf
context=radio-internal

server1=server1.echolink.org
server2=server2.echolink.org
server3=server3.echolink.org

;;; Set Radio parameters, if applicable
freq=446.000
tone=100.0

;;; You must set REASONABLE APRS parameters:
lat=38.908
lon=-77.113
height=6
power=7
gain=9
dir=0

David, Vince I'm having similar issues on a node I am building for someone but I think it is password related. I had one node I built where the conf file looked good but would not work. I rebuilt the file from the template and it took off.... One question.. I see you have context=radio-internal. The template has context=radio-secure. What is the difference?? Regards, Rich, WA2ZPX
