[arm-allstar] USB Cables With the Most Shielding?

I have seen/heard tale of this in the past, but just like the OP (Chris) said, I haven't had anyone be able to "pin it down"
to any particular cause.
The USB cable supplied with the RIMs is admittedly cheap. Since I have no idea how each person would set up their station, I
offer the supplied cable FREE for initial setup and testing purposes. (I.E. get it on the air NOW) My thoughts were that most
folks would order a replacement cable (USB-A to Mini-USB) of desired length and quality and thus no longer use the FREE cable
I supply. [disposable] ;)
In the first report I had of "noise issues", the fellow was using a PL-259 to BNC adapter with a rubber duck directly on the
rear of the radio running HIGH power. *THAT* was an easy case of RF ingress. ;)
Beyond that, I have heard of folks getting whine on both the RX and TX sides of the radio with no clear explanation nor
resolve. (Especially since the reported RX noise was emanating from the radio's speaker.)
I have been unable to reproduce these anomalies here on the test bench. (with a known good antenna setup more than 50' away
from the transceiver) It would seem as though some 100pf RF bypass caps sprinkled here and there would resolve it, however,
I'm not ENTIRELY sure it's RF related; as in this case where the OP says it's clock noise ingress.
I'm more than willing to work with anyone that is having and is able to consistently reproduce the issues. It would be
ESPECIALLY helpful if that person was technically inclined and could 'tack on' a few bypass caps for testing.
As a side note: I started getting these reports (minus the first one) about 2 years ago. There was no board layout change on
my end. I'm not sure if Alinco made some changes on their end. (possibly eliminating Accessory connector filtering to save $$$)
