Thanks for the forward of my message David.

I am a bit confused by the VPN recommendation for multiple nodes at a 
SINGLE location.
 
I get it's usage IF multiple servers are distributed throughout multiple 
locations with different IP's

Since he plans to allow only his single HUB to have public access. The
rest would be private -LAN nodes- planning to connect only with each other
and the HUB.

Wouldn't all traffic be between his private nodes and HUB be only on his
own LAN?  Therefore wouldn't defining the lookup in the "rpt.conf [nodes]
be the proper way of providing lookups for his internal system for local
node?
