[arm-allstar] DTMF 3 for *3 not being decoded

Keyboard entry to connect to a remote node (rpt fun 51625 *3123456) works
fine and will connect.
However, keying my repeater from two different HTs and entering *3123456
results in a voice message (Pi3B) " macro not found" and the CLI screen
lists the * and all digits correct except no 3s are listed.
I've tried lowering audio level thinking maybe DTMF tones were overdriven
and distorted, but that didn't correct it.
Is the macro really missing?
I'm an 80 year old newbie at this.  :-)
