[arm-allstar] Hamlib rig control

I have an Icom m710 and Kenwood v7 that will each have their own pie and will be at separate locations. I know they can be controlled by hamlib in the hamvoip but as I have never done this before I would like some guidance or instructions. I thought there used to be some instructions on the hamvoip website but I cannot seem to find them. 
Will these 2 setups need their own node number or can it be a private node? I’m not sure how the private nodeworks either?
Of course I will be controlling these via DTMF from my home node or my travel node. I do have the interfaces made for the radios. Now it is just a matter of getting everything to function like I want. If somebody has a similar set up like this I would gladly except any information you can give. Thank y’all very much.
