[arm-allstar] Initial setup question

"Parrot Mode" --- enable it, then when you key up your node and talk into the mic (like "test one two three") as soon as you unkey your node it should play back what ever you just said... Just like a parrot in the house repeats what it hears said around it... BE SURE TO TURN IT OFF AFTER TESTING.... some people forget to and then go do a connect and what fun that causes for some....
Have a greatday sir,
William

Hi Rich,
Thank you for responding. Regarding #1 I am not familiar with "parrot mode", can you tell me how this works? Regarding #2 there is no published PL on the node I was trying to connect. Regarding #3 I will adjust the settings for COS in the simpleUSB menu.
Thanks,
Peter

If it is only COS, you will see keyup on noise and interference.3) PTT Lockup.. Are you sure you have the right setting for COS in the simpleUSB menu?

The Alinco is in Simplex mode on low power on 446.50 and I get the periodic announcements from the Raspberry Pi on an HT tuned to the same frequency as well as on the Alinco. I can connect / disconnect to remote nodes using the Asterisk command line: "rpt fun 54265 *73<node>" or "rpt fun 54265 *73<node>".

However, I did receive an email from an admin stating: Your node Periodically is locking up a ptt. Your your node is getting interference making it key up? Please use a pl tone on your receive and or Resolve the issue." I think that person blocked me from trying to reconnect to that node.

I wish there was an Allstar testing location / node such as exists for Skype where you can connect to an Allstar test number/node and it plays back your audio a few seconds later so you could hear what your audio sounds like to adjust it.
