Ron,
Typically, nodes only generate ID telemetry after they've been keyed up.
The "beaconing=1" rpt.conf parameter will force nodes to always ID during
each ID interval (set by the "idtime" parameter), irregardless of whether
they've been keyed up.  The default setting is "beaconing=0" --even if
this parameter is missing from the config file.
So, if "beaconing=0" is set and your node still ID's every hour, I would 
look for something cauing this to happen---perhaps like a top of the hour 
time announcement (initiated from cron, in the /var/spool/cron/root file) 
or weather annoucement, etc.
