[arm-allstar] regaining connection

Greetings from Oz
I manage a remote node in western Queensland and the internet service is
not stable
When the internet drops, the pi picks up the connection and can be seen
back on the active nodes list.
However by ticking the box for a permanent connection using supermon does
not work and the node does not reconnect.
Any ideas as to how to make this connect back.
I have searched the how to's but had no luck so far.
PS Heads up, ...Im linux challenged
