[arm-allstar] CODEC2 --was: Radio-less node

David,

Could you enlighten us on just what advantage/purpose the Codec2 might 
provide Allstar.
 From what I have read Codec2 deals more with Digital speech along with 
its lower bandwidth transmission.

On an earlier post of Alan's it had a link to listen to what Codec2 
would sound like.
Sorry to say I listened to that example numerous times and never was 
able to determine what the audio example was saying.

Admittedly I have bad hearing but even with a head set I still couldn't 
understand it. Of course I have trouble with Fast talkers as well 
slurred words too.
However no one commented on their take of Codec2 quality. I refrained 
from commenting also since I am not the person to judge audio.
