Charlie,
The *_most definitive_* Asterisk "bible" that I know of is the O'Reilly
Media, Inc. book entitled Asterisk: The Definitive Guide, 5th Edition.

*One warning I'll mention is that "Allstar" (aka ASL) and Asterisk have
differences and not all of Asterisk is used to make ASL function the way
we Hams use it.*
