Hi David,
Yes, it's fine and desirable for your nodes to be registered with the ASL
servers. Ultimately, most users be registered with HamVoIP as well. For
now, we've focused on getting users/nodes on the HamVoIP registration
system by request only. Many of these HamVoIP registration users have
portable nodes or dynamic IP addresses, where the registration info
propagation speed (typically 1 minute or less) through the HamVoIP system
gives a big advantage.
Note that since about 09/2018, all V1.5 or later HamVoIP nodes by default
utilize the DNS node lookup method for connections. All DNS lookup is
performed via HamVoIP DNS servers. We combine info from HamVoIP and ASL
into a single data set. Recently, again by request, HamVoIP is also
generating a static rpt_extnodes "flat file" suitable for ASL, Micro-Node
and legacy HamVoIP systems. We update this file with the latest data once
a minute as well. It is available by request.
If you would like HamVoIP registration statements, for now just send me a
personal e-mail with your node numbers. Note that HamVoIP registrations
will work fine with HamVoIP, ASL or Micro-Node systems, etc.
To use the ASL registration system, make sure the URL in your iax.conf
file is: register.allstarlink.org
More announcements about this are coming.

allstarlink.org. 96% are using register-tpa.allstarlink.org. Has
something changed, or does hamvoip image registration still use
allstarlink.org?
Thanks DavidÂ
