I am using the DVSwitch app on my Android.
I tried connecting to node EL 523241 (a friend) this evening. I do not get any response back indicating connected or not connected.
I then tried connecting to EL node 9999. I do get a connected message to this node. However, when I transmit, I do not get an echo back. I presume this is the EL node for parroting your transmission back to you. Isn't the parrot feature suppose to work? Have others been able to do this? Since writing this I did get the parrot feature to work just once. Disconnecting and reconnecting multiple times the parrot feature would not work. I do get an announcement back sayin connect to 3009999 (wish is EL 9999).
So exactly what am I suppose to hear when a connection is not made?
For the last many years, I have not been able to connect to single user stations (those stations without a -L or a -R after their call) either on the EL windows software or the EL Andoid app.  The EL folks always tell me it is due to some incompatibility in the system now, which I don't fully understand. Supposdly this is for stations that are using their cellphones. I hear things like use a proxy. But if the cellphone EL station isn't, then no connection can be made anyway.
My request:Is there someone with EL experience on AllStar that can help me out?
1. If one is having issues connecting to single users though EL directly, would the same issue occur going through AllStar?
2. Are others able to connect to single user stations using EL through AllStar?
3. Any ideas on the parrot at EL 9999 not working consistently?
4. Is there supposed to be a message if an EL station is unavailable, i.e.,  no connection made?
Anyway, any help will be most appreciated.
