Hello All,

I am trying to interface a URIx to an MTR2000.  While I see a lot of
examples of people interfacing the MTR2000 to different controllers, MMDVM
etc, I don't really see a good walkthrough for HamVoip.  I am trying to use
the 4 wire wireline card because I have to do a PL tone on this repeater.
Since Simple USB won't do PL and the new IOPipe doesn't seem to be ready, I
have to do this onboard.  I also don't want to have to run some kind of
encoder/decoder either.  Does anyone have any instructions on how to set
this up?  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

73,

Jeff - KD0QCN

There is a guy that builds custom cables in Plano, tx. I just did an
MTR2000 and his cable made it super easy!

Jay,

Do you have anymore info on how I can find this cable?

Thanks,

Aloha Jeff,

Try this.
http://www.repeater-builder.com/motorola/mtr2k/more-mtr2k-int/mtr2000-interfacing-followup.html

I have been using it for many MTR2000's in Hawaii. You didn't say what
USB radio interface you were using but it's not hard to figure out.

I get the 96 pin connectors here:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/PCB-Connector-APFEL-RM96abcP-13117-96-Pin/152550553802
Use pins C2, C10 & C19 and the 4 wireline connections (see the bottom of
the page)

I use one of these DC to DC converters soldered to Pin C31 (-14v) & C32
(+14v) to power the Pi

Questions? Feel free to contact me at jim-dot-pilgram-at-gmail-dot-com

I suspect the custom cable was made by Mark Danon at https://northcommtechnologies.com/. His cables aren?t inexpensive, but the build quality is exceptional.
