[arm-allstar] Node-29103 not registering after update

I just wanted to clear up some misconceptions in your statements.
There is clearly an ASL registration issue that has been going on for years
and gotten worse over time. It is a random problem and unless you are
looking for it in many cases you will not notice. Permanently connected
nodes running 24/7 are rarely noticeably effected. The problem is well
known and often effects those that cycle their nodes on and off. The ASL
registration server periodically puts out bogus IP address information and
rejections. This is a fact. I have several rejected registration per day on
most of my nodes. This never happens with the hamvoip server. Having
startup registration issues is no uncommon with the current registration
system. We carefully monitor the registration system both ASL and hamvoip
and we know the issues.
Many hamvoip users (in the order of 300-400) have been issued manual
hamvoip registrations and are dual registering a this point. The hamvoip
registration server is a custom and robust piece of software that has been
running for over 6 months without a glitch and could handle 10 times or
more the current number of Allstar registrations. The Asterisk registration
server which ASL is using has inherent problems that could probably be made
to work better if someone there knew how to do that but in the end it is
not cut out to handle the ever increasing registration load.
Hamvoip will be launching registration for all V1.5 users very soon. The
goal is by the end of the month but like everything else day jobs and
personal issues sometimes get in the way. Once this is established all
hamvoip V1.5+ users will have dual registration at both the ASL and hamvoip
servers thus adding to the redundancy. Connects within the hamvoip
community will be even quicker than they are now being immediate upon start
up.
