[arm-allstar] SimpleUSB / USBRadio

Brad,

I am not following item 1 - and the many times a minute? Is this valid
traffic or noise? If it drops the timeout would be reset.

I can only tell you that simpleusb should interface fine as long as you
have things setup correctly. Often the settings used when connecting as you
are is duplex=0 and linktolink=yes Have you tried that? Many others
have link to controllers successfully and possibly someone using that
particular controller could give you some advice.

We generally do not recommend using usbradio on the Pi. It has some
substantial flaws which could probably be fixed. It was written as a single
thread application and would require a lot of rework to make it right. As
you know our answer is iopipe which I expect you will see in beta sometime
later this spring. But again I see no reason why simpleusb with the proper
settings would not work. Maybe you need to get rid of that controller and
use network connected Pi's running Allstar as you controllers! It certainly
would be a lot more flexible and redundant.
