Sean,

The audio level method is by default Log but you also have the option of
selecting linear. Back before we actually fixed the levels in simpleusb the
linear method was created to solve the problem but now that it is working
correctly there is really no reason to change how you are doing it.
Changing from log to linear or linear to log gives you the same range it
just adjusts either in a log or linear fashion. This would be similar to a
log or linear potentiometer. So if you change it you will have to readjust
levels.

The TX DSP level was created to give finer steps between the mixer levels.
Again the average user would rarely if ever use this. This is more geared
to a repeater situation where you want to exactly set deviation using an
accurate piece of measuring equipment. TX DSP level by default is set to
maximum (999) and you would adjust the TX mixer level slightly higher than
it should be and then adjust the TX DSP level downward to achieve a perfect
level. This would be more needed with the new CM119B chip that only has 37
TX level steps but again for most users this is overkill. Leaving the level
set to 999 and just adjusting the mixer level works fine in most all cases.
