Doug,

I ran the upgrade and after rebooting the server from the main menu the main
menu has disappeared
and now when I use putty I get the following line after logging in.

4x1zs_pi_star ~]#

Regards

Zvi

Subject: [arm-allstar] Important HAMVOIP Image update

An update RPi2-3_V1.5rc50_allstar has been released for both the downloads
from the web page and a general update using item 1 of the main menu.

This update is larger than normal and includes a new Kernel version
4.14.97-1-arch as well as some new scripts. The last kernel update was
about nine months ago. The main reason to update the Kernel besides keeping
things up to date is the support of the Pi 3A+. The 3A+ is a scaled down
version of the 3B+ both in size and price. While a very few have expressed
a desire to use this board in general we do not recommend it unless you
have a need. It has no Ethernet port and only one USB port. Initial setup
would need to be done with a monitor and keyboard and since you can only
plug in one USB you would have to set it up and then attach a FOB unless
you used a USB hub.

This download versions at hamvoip.org have also been updated for new users.

All users should do this update and remember it might take longer than some
past updates especially on slower hardware. VERY IMPORTANT - PLEASE WAIT
FOR THE UPDATE TO COMPLETE AND THE MENU TO RETURN! When it is complete you
MUST reboot your server. DO NOT remove power during an update.

Also included in this update -

The Windows .exe self extract version also includes the latest WINDOWS
putty.exe, WinSCP and Win32diskimager software. If you do not already have
it, it avoids having to find and download it separately.

Updated hamvoip-backup-restore-scripts, fixed file-backup.sh comment error
Updated hamvoip-asterisk package to version:
1.4.23-pre.hamvoip-V1.5.3-50-app_rpt-0.327-01/24/2019.
Updated AutoSKY script -- now adds 1 second of silence at end of
announcement for avoid chopped off audio.
Upgraded kernel to 4.14.97, including these supporting packages:
firmware-raspberrypi
hamvoip-dahdi
kmod
linux-raspberrypi-headers
linux-raspberrypi
linux-api-headers
linux-firmware-hamvoip-lite
linux-firmware-hamvoip-extra
raspberrypi-bootloader
raspberrypi-bootloader-x
raspberrypi-firmware
uboot

Note the linux-firmware-hamvoip-extra package is NOT needed for the ARM
processor. This includes all of the third party firmware code associated
with specific products you would not normally connect to a Pi. In the rare
case that you might need specific firmware you could download this version.
It would be a rare occasion to need this file.

remote-command.sh - script to send remote ssh command to a server in your
control. Can use DTMF. You must set password in /root/pname.sh or use keys.

Typical command and response -

>From Linux prompt - remote-command.sh 40000 *81 229
>From DTMF - D1=cmd,remote-command.sh 40000 *81 229

Using DNS Lookup
Node - 40000 / IP = xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx / Port = 229 / Command - "rpt fun 40000
*81"

See the script for information or run without commands for help.

arduino_write.sh - script to send hex programming file to USB attached
Arduino. Requires filename and USB port.

Please note that this release went from firmware 1.5rc5-16 to 1.5rc6-02.
In the next update we will rethinking the naming of files and versions to
hopefully make it more logical to the user.
