[arm-allstar] Echolink on split-site repeater

I am building a split-site repeater with an RF link to another repeater 
so there are 3 simplex nodes all in the same LAN, one transmit node, one 
receive node and one transceive node. The nodes are connected via a 
startup_macro. All is working on the test bench. Is it possible to make 
Echolink work so it transmits and receives on both respective nodes 
simultaneously? Or does Echolink only work on the local node? If so, is 
there a workaround? Do I need a hub? If so will a Pi3B be adequate hardware?
