well
Doug

i had before a web page where i could see an 888 and another page where it was a UV82,

i dont need power and if i need i could drive an 35 watts PA from an Ge Master Exec that ii have here so power is not much an issue for now.

Alinco are rare ,,,very rare around here.
If i could find an Motorola with their rear 16 pinn connector i think they are the best choice but in the used market they are not cheap,,,at least the GM300 but maybe another small moto less exepensive would be great too but what model???

i will continue my search

thanks Doug

Gervais,

What power do you want to run? Is this local or longer distance? The
Baofeng 888 or UV82 would be a good choice for local low power - ~1W. I
would not recommend the TYT's as we have seen many problems with them in
longer duty applications. The Alinco DR-x35 series are good but more
expensive. There are not a lot of in between radios say in the $50 to $100
area that are good.
