I have used the ft-2500m in this configuration just be aware that even with PL tone is being used it will still see a carrier without pl tone and activate just be aware

I believe the mic is an RJ-45 so you could cut an old Ethernet patch cord
and then wire the correct connections to a FOB. Yes, George has a couple of
new FOB's available that work well at a very reasonable price. Contact him
at Techno.bygeorge at gmail.com. I am not where I can send you a copy of the
manual at the moment but it would be an easy wiring job.
