Good Afternoon Jay,

I appreciate your feedback as at first thought it seems just that easy though as I referenced in my email below, I would like to avoid that option. I also agree that your method is easier to get started with. I can do that now. I also use Supermon while driving to do the same though accessing the favorites pull down can be just as distracting.

In the end, I am up to the challenge of what might lead to an option of "no cell phone required" which is good for driving in New York State and "not dependent on two handed microphone operations".

What I am looking for is:

Is this technically possible without compromising the HamVoIP software or function?

Has anyone else done this or would know how before I spend too much time trying to reinvent the wheel?

Using the app on your smartphone and connecting via wifi to your node.

I have done some research on how the Pi can interpret the key presses from a generic perspective. If I recall it correctly, someone here mentioned that a script could be set up to monitor for the * key as the start of the command string and the # for the execute. Of course with something like 3(node #) in the middle or a *76# to disconnect all.
