Doug. Thank You again for all your assistance.  You are correct, in my post
I did have TX & RX reversed in my explanation. (I also get credit and debit
mixed up with bank discussions hi hi).

I went through the setup up again and using  the simpleusb-tune-menu. The
settings were in fact out. Perhaps I did not save it when I initially set
them.  Either way, I followed your suggestions and it now works as it
should.
