[arm-allstar] Supermon cannot connect to manager

Adding to the mystery: just disconnected all external nodes and now I have a nice "Local Node RX-Keyed" and "No connexion" instead of "Connecting to Asterisk Manager ..." Same behavior on two different sites. It reverts to " Connecting to Asterisk Manager ..." or freezes as soon as an external allstar node is connected. (all this with 127.0.0.1 and I can login and logout no problem and get all commands).RogerVE2DBE

Roger,
In order to use the rx cos from a remote site you must have AMI connection
to there BUT it is not a good idea to do that without using a firewall as
AMI is not secure. I have put together a new howto that I will put out
later today with info on doing that. Here is how to make it work to test -
The remote node must allow port 5038 to pass to it. In manager.conf change
the bindaddress from 127.0.0.1 to 0.0.0.0 - Comment one and uncomment the
other. Restart Asterisk there. In the route at that location port forward
port 5038 TCP to the address of the Allstar server there. Make sure you
have your local allmon.ini file configured with a stanza to go the the
public IP address of the remote site :5038.
Once you have this working you have full control of that site from that
site - connect/disconnect, etc. and any actions there including RX-Keyed is
shown in your local screen.
Make sure you put in the iptables example shown in the howto I will put out
this afternoon.
