	Choice of any one single alternate DNS service is controversial and not 
all would agree with this choice. However, your approach to locking the 
file to overwrites (whatever it's set to) seems like a good idea at 
first blush.

	Running a local DNS server (w/ cache), perhaps on another Pi (like an 
older unused Pi or Pi2) within your LAN would seem to be a good idea and 
has worked well for me. It's not too difficult to set up and other 
machines on your LAN can greatly benefit from its local caching as well. 
Really helps when the local ISPs (or other choice external) DNS takes a 
lunch break.
