[arm-allstar] Treble and bass issue

Danny,
Treble and bass as you call it is a characteristic of the radios being
used at both ends. On a typical connection there are four radios involved.
The digital path is basically flat over the voice range. Like in any
communications system there are going to be differences in level and
bandpass with different users and radios.
There is one thing that could be causing this and that is if someone does
not have their pre and de-emphasis set correctly. This is more often done
in the radio but there is a setting for it in simpleusb-tune-menu. However
you would NOT want to use these settings simply to tailor audio for one
user. There is no setting in Allstar to generally equalize audio or
bass/treble controls as you call them. The other issue with doing this is
that it would effect all users you are connected to and fixing one would
probably make another one sound bad. The best thing to do is see if the
node you specified is setup correctly. Perhaps then are using pre-emphasis
when they do not need to and finally remember this is amateur radio not
commercial FM.
