Roger,

  no, There are no changes in that regard. PP and PPINVERT refer to a
parallel port on a PC which does not exist any more and we are using Pi's
primarily anyhow. The mod is not hard but if you do not want to do it there
are alternatives other than the more expensive DMK-URI. There are
commercial products as low as $35 and a friend of mine is modifying and
selling boards and soon will be making boards. His email is
