Chris,
If you were using iaxrpt I presume you were talking to your own node. You
said you had the node radio turned off. This is something you must never
do. When you turn off the radio the state of the COS line could become
anything and especially on a positive going true COS (COS set to usb in
simpleusb.conf). The line could flicker around and cause intermittent
keying or actually keep the node hard keyed. If you must turn off the
radio you need to pull the USB from the FOB out of the Pi. If you are going
to do this often I would suggest a Pi just for iaxrpt or a second node on
your Pi just for iaxrpt. Then you could disconnect the radio node and just
use the iaxrpt node. I understand your situation there where you need to
turn off the radio to conserve power so you need to come up with a plan to
avoid the problem.
