[arm-allstar] Problems after system update

Doug,
Both *A1 and /usr/local/sbin/sayip.sh $NODE1 announce the local IP address, but the node does not announce the IP address on start up.
*B1 announces system going down for halt in 10 seconds and then it halts the processor.  Item 16 on the Admin menu does not announce anything, but it halts the processor.  The RPI3 halt button seems to do nothing.
When I enter ps ax | grep [s]hutdown nothing returns.
Thanks,  Chris - W6CS - 73

Subject: Re: [arm-allstar] Problems after system update

Chris,

I have not seen this in anything here and no one has reported it but I am interested in what is going on.

These two things seem to be related to the allstar.env file and the rc.allstar file in /usr/local/etc.  We do not touch the allstar.env file in updates but we can modify the rc.allstar file in updates. However we have not recently. Users should not change the rc.allstar file.

The ip address executes this statement -

/usr/local/sbin/sayip.sh $NODE1

Try doing this at the Linux prompt and see if you hear it?

By default the shutdown, etc. statements in rpt.conf are commented.

B1=cmd,/usr/local/sbin/halt.sh 1998             ; Halt the system (linux total shutdown)

This says if you DTMF *B1 it will call halt.sh with a node parameter. The node parameter has to be correct in order for the voice confirmation to work. Again you can run halt.sh manually and see if that works.

Again the shutdown monitor is nothing more than a background script running -

 # Shutdown Monitor, RP2/3 Only
if [ "$HWTYPE" = "RPi2" ] && [ "$SHUTDOWN_MONITOR" = "enabled" ] ; then
    /usr/local/sbin/shutdown_monitor.sh & > /dev/null
fi

To detemine if it is loaded after a boot do

ps ax | grep [s]hutdown

If nothing is returned it is not running.

I just did a system update today (2/7/2018) using PUTTY selecting item 1 on the Admin menu.  Right after the update a couple things happened that I can't figure out.
1. My node no longer announces the IP address on start up.  If I do *A1 it will announce the IP address, but before the update it would automatically announce it at start up.  It no longer does that.
2.  My halt button on the Raspberry PI3 no longer functions.  Before the update it would halt the RPI3 if I held the button in for six seconds or so. It would announce goodbye system powering down.   Now the button does not halt the processor.  If I do system power down (item 16 on the Admin menu) the processor will halt and then I power it off.  I checked /usr/local/etc/ allstar.env and SHUTDOWN_MONITOR is enabled.
My node is RPI3, DMK URi, Baofeng UV-82.
Any ideas on what I should check?  Thanks,  Chris, W6CS - 73.
