The Kenwoods as well as many other transceivers have a 6 pin DIN data
connector. It has a standard pinout. Here is an article on that -

To interface to a DMK/URI you connect PTT to pin 1, Gnd to 19,20, Squelch
to pin 8, data out 1200 to pin 21 and data in to pin 22.
