[arm-allstar] Supermon 6 Tip adding commands

I am copying a message stream I had with John and David below regarding
adding things to supermon. In working with this we discovered a bonus of
the supermon DTMF button. You can put any text in for DTMF and that allows
you to define functions in rpt.conf that would NOT be executable by radio
DTMF but would be in supermon. Here is an example -

If you add this to the [functions] stanza in rpt.conf for the node you want
to execute it in -

ID=status,11

and in supermon you select that node number, add *ID to the entry box and
select the DTMF button it will execute that command.

Similarly if for instance you wanted to add halt as an option add in
rpt.conf.

HALT=cmd,/usr/local/sbin/halt.sh <node>

and again in supermon type *HALT

Also case does not matter. You can stack commands also like -

*ID*HALT

Also another bonus of doing it this way is if you have supermon setup to
manage remote servers/nodes and if they are selected this would work for
them also.

 John,

 Any DTMF command you can execute on the radio can be done in supermon to
any control
l
ed server/node. Just activate the B1 halt in rpt.conf. Then select the
node you want to control and put *B1 in the supermon window and click DTMF.
