Jeff,

 Yes that is a way to do it but for just a single command that is probably
overkill. It would primarily be used when you have 10's of commands and you
don't want to create functions for each one in rpt.conf. Here is how to do
it in the functions stanza of rpt.conf -

850=cmd,/etc.asterisk/local/some_script parameters

So  *850  in this case would execute the defined script.

The 8xx series above 82x is open territory for additional commands. You can
add as many parameters to the command as your script needs.
