[arm-allstar] Multiple repeaters one node number

Is it typical to have multiple repeaters on one allstar node number all active at the same time?  I’ve run across this in Southern California with repeaters geographically dispersed. I was under the impression that each repeater should have its own node number. Appreciate clarification on this. Thanks.
