Both the ARRL and ARN playnews is played by date and forms a filename with
the date. So unless your clock is wrong (unlikely) they did not update the
file. Here is the date string. You can run this on your system at the Linux
prompt to display the date of last Friday....
date --date="last friday" +%Y-%m-%d
2017-05-12
It looks for LAST Friday. So if you played it on Friday it would play the
file from the previous Friday. It is unclear when the file is actually
updated on Friday but it would be safe to play it on any day after Friday
up to the next Friday. In other words the first day you can play it is
Saturday and the last day is Friday.
