Maurice,

Please forward the info on the device you are using. Plug in the device
and at the Linux prompt type - lsusb - and forward the info. It will
look like this -

[root at Pi3-test# lsusb
Bus 001 Device 005: ID 0403:6001 Future Technology Devices International,
Ltd FT232 Serial (UART) IC
Bus 001 Device 006: ID 0d8c:013a C-Media Electronics, Inc.
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 1a40:0101 Terminus Technology Inc. Hub
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0424:ec00 Standard Microsystems Corp. SMSC9512/9514
Fast Ethernet Adapter
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 0424:9514 Standard Microsystems Corp. SMC9514 Hub
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

Also if a chip is recognized it will have its hearbeat LED blinking. Keep
in mind you do have to modify the FOB for COS and PTT out so if it is
potted you cannot do that. See the links on the hamvoip website howto's for
FOB's for links to FOB's that work. The recent open no case FOB's work.
