[arm-allstar] timer question

I'm working on a remote base UHF/HF. Single RPi server with 2 nodes.
UHF node is Duplex=1. HF Duplex =0. DTMFs are passed to a program via
*6xxx which calls my intermediate program.
When I key UHF HT, the HF goes into Tx as desired.
However, if I key UHF HT and do DTMF, releasing UHF HT PTT does not
result in dropping HF Tx. There is a LONG hangtime.
If I do the DTMF via the linux cmd line (asterisk -rx "rpt fun ....")
it works as expected, no long hang time. I can view the extended PTT
assertion using SimpleUSBtuneMenu. For unknown reasons, the UHF node
decoding DTMF triggers a longer hangtime. I'm thinking this may be
related to using the Autopatch function, but I'm not sure.
Suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
