Paul,

Telemetry levels are handled by two commands in rpt.conf

; Audio Level settings in dB

telemnomdb=0
                                ; Overall reduction in telemetry level
telemduckdb=-9
                                ; Telemetry level reduction with signal

The first setting above is the base level. The second is the amount of
reduction in level when a signal is present - when someone is speaking.
These levels are in dB and reductions would be in minus numbers. Experiment
with different values of -1 down. You can use  *80 or *81 to test your
changes. Changing these values requires a reload of rpt.conf or a restart
of asterisk for them to take effect.
