Would a dmk uri be less prone to rfi?

Terry,

 RF can cause strange problems and especially when you are running a
repeater in close proximity like you are. There are two RF signals very
close to one another in spectrum and physically. While it is hard to say
what it is in your case if it goes away when you get further away from the
repeater then it is probably RF getting into something. Try putting a dummy
load on the repeater and see if it goes away. You may need to use some
ferrites on the lead or reorient things.
