Bryan,

  The firsttime script would not change that anyway. It is a cron job -  at
the Linux prompt type  contab -e

# Do not remove the following line
# required for lsnodes and allmon
15 03 * * * cd /usr/local/sbin; ./astdb.php cron
00 0-23 * * * (source /usr/local/etc/allstar.env ; /usr/bin/nice -19
/usr/bin/p$

The second line 00 0-23 * * * .....etc.

is the line that says the time. It you do not want it to say it at all put
a # before the line and save the file. If you want to adjust the times that
it speaks adjust the values - for instance  00 07-21 * * * .....    would
only say the time on the hour from 7AM to 9PM.  00 09,12,17,21 * * * ....
would say it at 9AM, 12PM, 5PM, and 9PM.
