If any of your have visited the web transceiver at allstarlink.org you will
notice that a rather stern warning has been added that it is java and it
probably does not work but you are welcome to try or some such message.
Nothing has changed and if you have a current java installed it will work.
You need to follow this howto link that has been out on the hamvoip.org
website for awhile to set it up -
https://hamvoip.org/docs/WebTransceiverSetupHelp.pdf
It is just a matter of going through the described process and adding
https://allstarlink.org as an exception. This is a per computer action so
you would have to do it on every computer on which you intend to use the
web transceiver.
This works fine on windows 7 and has a Mac setup that I have not checked
but probably also works. In Linux you need to have java loaded and a plugin
for your browser. The icedtea-8-plugin appears to work in ubuntu 16.04 with
firefox 50.1.0. Linux and browser versions will vary in installation
procedure.
That all being said the web transceiver does have flaws. 40K nodes appear
as IRLP nodes and it sometimes is cantankerous to use.
