What is the kernel version of the image you have - uname -r ???
If you have that kernel then you should have the header files. I would
think that is all you would need but maybe not for the device tree. I don't
even have a running BBB system here any more. I could bring one up though
if needed.
It is hard if not impossible to get any past stuff in a rolling release.
There use to be an archive for ARM but no one maintains it any more. You
could do a complete upgrade - pacman -Syu. It will break Allstar though. At
the very least you will have to recompile dahdi and there could be some
hiccups there.
In any case you are going to probably be pulling your hair out doing it. I
think the Arduino approach might be better.
