Announcing the release of Hamvoip Version 2.0 Allstar code. We have been
working on this for over a year. This new version was completely rewritten
in Python and PHP and boasts MANY new features. It ties together virtually
all VOIP and digital RF modes. You can talk Allstar, IRLP, Echolink, Dstar,
Fusion, DMR, P25, (even PSK and JT9/65 although voice conversion will be
very slow) and many others. All modes can be accessed with simple commands
from your DTMF keyboard. We weren't sure this release would be ready this
soon and unfortunately it comes right on the heels of our V1.5. You will
need to burn a new SD card to use it but it will be worth the effort.

Some of the other features are:

- Works on any computer – PC, ARM processor, Mac, Apple IPAD, and many
others.

- Improved code efficiency allows you to run up to 8 nodes simultaneously
even on the Pi Zero!

- Instead of duplex which was previously a nice feature it is now quadplex
with 2 channels in each
direction.

- Requires minimal memory. The code fits in about 256 MB of space and it
boots in the blink of an eye.
Bootup times have been measured at <3 seconds. It is even quick on the Pi
zero at about 6 seconds.

- New smart mode allows it to talk to most transceivers and set frequency
and PL automatically.

- Allows complete remote operation of your HF rig or other rig from
anywhere in the world.

There are so many new features it is hard to describe them all in one
email. There will be a howto (about 200 pages) released in a day or two and
the image will be available on our site (hamvoip.org) later today. The
image name is RPi2-3_2.0_04-01-2017_Allstar.img.xz Look for it in the
download section.

This is a BIG step forward in the evolution of Allstar and I know you all
will be thrilled with it.

73, You hamvoip Allstar team.
