Paul,
Welcome to the forum. On the FOBS.. I put a link out on the mod page for a known good FOB and I am about to put another one out there tonight.
The nano code is coming! I know I keep saying that but it is part of an entire package that has many many Allstar enhancements, fixes, etc. We want to get the initial package right so thus the delay.
Fine on the nano link. I will keep it handy for when I do a howto on that.
There is a ham that is mod'ing the 888 radios and sound FOBS, http://kd8mst.no-ip.biz/
if you are interested in having someone else do it.

New to the message board (day 1) and this is my first post.
I was also hoping for the I/O to come along soon so as not to have to mod the USB FOBS. I bought several that turned out to not be modible. They also don't work on the bootable flashdrive and laptop setup.
I am excited to start testing the Nano I/O when that comes along. You mentioned lots of I/O pins, I am a big fan of LEDS and to be able to make an LED status screen like the RC-850 would be nice. COR, PTT, Link PTT, etc.
I get my Nanos from Banggood.com, they take several weeks but you can't beat the price. They also have several I/O screw terminals for the Nano that could be very handy. You can get a Nano for $3.00 with free shipping.
If you buy 10 you can get them for $1.90 ea. The terminal strips I don't know how they do it, the parts cost more than the kit.
Here is the link if anyone is interested. Don't get in a hurry, 3 weeks is about right from order to arrival.
