[arm-allstar] Setting up Zoiper for Allstar - How to make the mute button work as PTT

OK I did a little more reading on this. The Pv in the dialplan -
exten => 40000,n,rpt(40000|Pv)
means VOX. So muting takes away all audio and clears PTT. I have no idea if this actually works because I have not tried it but apparently it does.

Hi Steve,
Zoiper works on my iPhone without much effort. The instructions were good. Are you using an iPhone also?
Since Zoiper is full duplex, the mute button only mutes your ability to be heard. It's not like a regular PTT button. You can hear what the other person is saying throughout the contact.
I hope this helps.

Steve,
I have used zoiper but I am not an expert and I have not used mute.
I would suggest contacting W1BFC, Bernie or K1GMM. They probably have QRZ emails. If you find an answer publish it back here for all to see.

Hi,
I followed the “Setting Up Zoiper for Allstar” instructions in the “User
Tech Notes and Interresting Sites” section on Doug’s website here: http://crompton.com/hamradio/BeagleBoneBlackAllstar/ConnectZoipertoAllstarNode.pdf
I got it working, but the mute button does not operate as a PTT button as
described in the tech notes. I posted on another website and was helped by
another ham telling me to use *99 to switch to transmit and # to switch back to
receive. That worked, but I would really like to use the mute button to
toggle between transmit and receive as described in the tech notes above.
Has anyone else tried this and got it to work? Did you need to make any
changes?
Thanks,
Steve_WB8GRS
