Just a quick note to say we do have our code running on the Pi3 and both Pi2 and Pi3 support will be included in the upcoming 1.3 update. We also hope to support the built-in wifi on the Pi3. The current RPi2 V1.0 code will NOT support the Pi3.

Initial tests on the Pi3 show a substantial speed improvement that will certainly help with the DSP functions. We expect to have a completely new channel driver soon after the 1.3 release which will be a drastic step from the current way Allstar is interfaced to radios.

For those buying Pi3's they do draw more current and they get hotter. If you can, get one with pre-installed heatsinks or buy add-on heatsinks. The recommendation is to use a 5V 2.5 Amp power supply. A 2 amp supply, which many of the wall warts are should work fine as long a you don't have a large draw from USB peripherals. The USB sound FOBS and USB to serial interfaces draw minimal current. Remember these boards have built-in wifi and bluetooth which are additional loads.
