Hi Greg,

The next beta release will include an update for the TTS issues, replacing
the original google TTS system (which was excellent, but now unavailable)
with the Festival Lite ("flite") TTS engine. The flite engine is free and
runs locally on the RPi2-3 hardware, and it will continue to be available,
even if other solutions are found in the future.

We'll be making an announcement about this next release soon.
