Bob,
If you are running Allstar there is no need to get a dynamic dns address if you don't want to or you don't need it for anything else. Allstar is itself a dyn DNS of sorts based on your node number. I wrote a script to do this which you could use and maybe we can include in the next version. Not that it is any big deal but I do use it a lot here. Format is:
allstar_ssh.sh <node> <port>
The port defaults to 222.
Here is how to do it manually at the linux prompt:
grep <distant_node_number> /tmp/rpt_extnodes
[root at wa3dsp-27225-hub ~]# grep 28183 /tmp/rpt_extnodes
28183=radio at 173.255.166.7:4569/28183,173.255.166.7

Subject: [arm-allstar] DNS Lookup IP Address

Hi all, I help maintain an Allstar node, and need to log in remotely from time to time,
But the Public IP address of the node has been changing about once a week now.
Is there any built in scripts where I can either be notified of an IP address change or where I have the ability to Lookup an IP address based on the Node number ?
I wasn't sure if there was something already in use on these nodes by default.
Thanks
